Busy Month!
Sorry I haven't blogged in month, but I've been super busy lately...and not just the usual holiday time busy. The busyness can be attributed primarily to two things:
Domino

She moved in rather suddenly. In early December, my aunt calls me in distress. One of her three cats, Blanche, was being bullied by her other cats to the point where the anxiety was giving her a urinary tract infection. She had taken her to the vet for treatment, but needed to find her in a new home, one with no other pets, immediately. Apparently this cat has a tendency to get bullied by aggressive "alpha" cats, so she's the type that needs to be the only pet in the house. So, within a few hours, my aunt drops her off at my house and she's been here ever since. I didn't like the name she came with, so I renamed her Domino after a black and white pinto horse at the barn where I ride. She is one of the sweetest cats I've ever met. She's a good companion cat - she loves to hang out with you, even it means just being in the same room with you're watching TV or whatever. I can see how she can be vulnerable to getting bullied: she doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. She loves lots of attention and even "talks" to you through these sweet little purring/meowing noises she makes. It's nice to have somebody to keep me company while I'm home by myself all day long. I love her to pieces!!
A new "job"
Though I haven't found anything full time yet, I am currently working on a
freelance writing assignment for a local hospital. It feels good to be
working again, even if it's only part time and temporary. It's good
experience, and it pays! I wouldn't mind continuing to freelance, if the
opportunity presents itself, after I find a full time job since it's
something I can do at home on evenings and weekends.
